Acting for the Camera Workshop


If you've ever wanted to work in:

FILM, or TELEVISION, or COMMERCIALS

then this workshop is for you!


Learn how acting for the camera differs from acting for the stage and what you need to do as an actor to make these changes!

Work with a Manhattan Acting Teacher/Director and Professional Actor without traveling to Manhattan!

  • Have you auditioned for on camera work and felt lost?
  • Do you want to improve your auditions?
  • Do you want to take your acting skills to the next level?
  • Would you like to increase your chances of getting cast?
  • Have you ever wanted to explore how to act for the camera?

This class is designed for actors who have experience AND for the beginning actor.


During the class:
  • You'll get individual feedback and adjustments to your work
  • You'll work on camera each class AND will watch other students as they work on camera
  • You'll learn about frame size and how it affects your acting
  • You'll learn about continuity and marks and how these affect acting for the camera.
  • You'll learn to make strong personal connections to text and create believable characters
  • You'll have fun while you learn!











When:
Monday, July 18th 6:30pm to 9:30pm
AND
Monday, July 25th 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Where:
Fishkill Recreation Center, 793 Route 52, Fishkill

Cost: $100

Class size is limited.

Payment in advance is required.






This workshop is being offered by Lea Brandenburg. She is the co-author of the textbook: "The Actor's Workbook: How to Become a Working Actor". For the last eight years she has been teaching at the New York Film Academy where she has worked with and directed hundreds of students ranging in age from 14 to 72 and directed seven short films.


She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actors Equity Association, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. As a performer she has worked professionally in all mediums: voiceover, onstage and on camera. Her most recent acting credit is performing as Marthy Owen in Manhattan in a production of Eugene O'Neill's "Anna Christie".
